Due to a family health emergency and the resultant life changes, retirement is unexpectedly upon us and we will not be offering any kayak trips in addition to those currently listed on our Trip Calendar.
Please feel free to register for one of our remaining Public Trips or Special Events including the May 27 Peace of the Susquehanna for Northcentral PA Conservancy (register with us), the 2018 Schuylkill River Sojourn (register at https://www.schuylkillriver.org/sojourn.aspx) and the June 23 Loyalsock River of the Year (register at https://afitevent.formstack.com/forms/sunrise_sunset_susquehanna).
If you've been on a trip with us in the past, and haven't yet downloaded your Trip Photos, please do so. They will no longer be accessible after May 10, 2019.
Check back here later this summer for information on boat, equipment, and trailer sales.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our fellow paddlers, friends, and supporters; it's been a great (river) run...

(P.S. If you want a guided kayak tour and can't join us in May or June, we're sure you'd have a great time with our friends at Southern Tier Kayak Tours (NY), Take It Outdoors Adventures (PA and Switzerland), Blue Mountain Outfitters (PA), and The Bad Adventure Company (CO and Worldwide).
Canoe Susquehanna Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you rent boats?
We run guided kayak trips, so we do not rent our canoes and kayaks without our guides. Don't despair, though, our guided trips are tons of fun! For an extremely reasonable rate, we provide so much more than an ordinary canoe livery. Our equipment is meticulously well maintained, we provide tons of little extras (bottled water, snacks, water-blasters, photos from your trip, etc.) and our staff of expert guides will be available to assist you as much or as little as you like. We go to great lengths to ensure that all of our guests have a great day on the water.
Do you offer shuttle service?
We provide a "people and boat shuttle" in one of our brightly painted buses at the beginning or end of each guided trip we run. We do not provide shuttle service to folks who aren't part of a guided trip. However, we offer a generous discount for paddlers who sign up for one of our guided trips with their own equipment, including paddle, PFD (Coast Guard approved Type III Life-Jacket), and current boat registration/launch permit.
Will I be able to keep up?
Our trips are designed to accommodate a vast range of skills, ages and abilities. Absolutely no experience is required to participate in one of our guided trips. Our guides will teach the most efficient techniques to make paddling our boats as easy as possible. If you do have serious concerns or special needs, please inquire about our 'paddle with a guide' option.
Is my child old enough to come on a trip?
There is no minimum age to participate in a Canoe Susquehanna guided river trip. Our trips allow families with adults and children of all ages to have meaningful experiences together. The only requirement is our weight minimum of 30-pounds, which ensures that we'll be able to properly fit everyone with a PFD (life-jacket).
I have physical limitations or medical conditions, will I be able to participate in a trip?
It's best if you speak with us before booking your trip. In most cases, we are able to accommodate the special needs of our guests, but let's talk about it before your trip. Please call us toll free at 888-524-7692 or 570-524-7692, or send us an email at Mail@PaddleHappy.com.
How much do the photos cost?
They're free! You can download high-resolution digital images of the pictures we take of your trip at http://canoesusquehanna.smugmug.com. Feel free to make prints or email them to friends. You can also purchase prints directly from our trip photo website for a small fee.
What is a water blaster?
A water blaster is a small, plastic, hand-held, time machine. Its use instantly transports adults of all ages back to their youth. (Kids usually remain kids, though.)
