Upper Mainstem Guided Kayak Trip

Enjoy the companionship of friendly paddlers as you explore this lovely waterway amongst the river islands, watch for riverside wildlife, improve your paddling skills, and learn about local history! This trip  mileage will be 9 river miles between Hummels Wharf and Port Trevorton with an island rest stop mid-way.

After check-in & receiving paddling instruction, we begin our paddle by weaving amongst the river islands, away from land traffic intrusions.  Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagle sightings, cool off new friends with our complementary water blasters, gain awareness of the effect of geology on river currents and your choice of downstream routes, bask in the peace of the river, and notice the few remains of white man's historical use of the river corridor.

We meet at the Shady Nook Access Area:  gps 40.822958, -76.839511; address 176 Shady Nook Boat Launch Rd, Hummels Wharf, PA 17831.

At the end of the river paddle, after all have landed at Port Trevorton, our bus will transport you back to your vehicle at Shady Nook.

Cost: $55/person. If you plan to use a Canoe Susquehanna kayak, please review the Boat Choices page to help you decide which model you would prefer to use.

Cost: $45/person if you bring your own equipment. Remember, boats must have current registration or launch stickers.

Reservations are required. Email or phone 888-524-7692 (local: 570-524-7692) to book your spot!
