April 26 Buffalo Creek trip cancelled

Jeremy Quant

Please accept my sincerest apology for canceling this Sunday’s Buffalo Creek trip.

The Union County Historical Society owns/controls the Strawbridge or Dales Ridge Trail creek access.

There are some dead/dangerous trees along the trail, so UCHS has closed the trail, including public access to the creek.

This is the location to begin or end paddling the sections of Buffalo Creek that we paddle with guests.

This is also the location that we would use for an emergency/backup/safety takeout when we offer both sections on the same trip.

So, we will not be running trips on Buffalo Creek until the Strawbridge / Dales Ridge Trail access is open to the public.

For those of you who have already mailed payment for either trip, please tell me if you would like a full refund or credit towards another of our public trips.

If you are signed up for this Sunday’s trip, let me know if you would like to reserve spots on the May 9 trip IF we are able to run it.

There is currently work being done to resolve the access issue, so we are cautiously optimistic that the rest of this year's Buffalo Creek trips can run as planned.
