Enjoy the companionship of other friendly paddlers as you watch for riverside wildlife, improve your paddling skills, and learn about local history! This trip is 7 river miles between Montgomery & Watsontown with an island rest stop mid-way. We meet at the Watsontown Bridge Access a few minutes before 2 pm where you will park your vehicle and board our bus for the pre-trip shuttle to the put-in at Montgomery. After unloading gear & receiving paddling instruction, we begin our river trip across from remnants of the canal, then paddle past a peregrine falcon nesting site, under an old railroad bridge & around the end of a WWII-era dam. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagle sightings, experience body surfing a riffle at the snack spot, cool off new friends with our complementary water blasters, bask in the peace of the river, and notice the V of the pre-historic eel weirs as you make your way around their riffles.
Cost: $45/person. If you plan to use a Canoe Susquehanna kayak, please review the Our Canoes and Kayaks page to help you decide which model you would prefer to use.
Cost: $35/person if you bring your own equipment. Boats must have current registration or launch stickers.
